Malang regent wants PSSI congress in his town

World soccer body FIFA has allowed Indonesia a second chance to stage the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) congress to vote in a new chair on June 30, with Malang Regent Rendra Krisna claiming his administration was prepared to act as the host city. Rendra, also a member of the PSSI Normalization Committee, told news portal kompas.com he would issue a proposal to committee chairman Agum Gumelar to allow Malang to host the congress. He gave assurances the congress would not end in chaos, as occurred at the last congress. Rendra added that his regency had previously hosted the National Soccer Congress. He said Aremania, the fan base of local soccer club Arema Malang, would support the congress as well.
